Caring for Your Creations & Purchases
Keep your creations cozy, clean, and cared for.
Washing & Cleaning
Handmade crochet pieces deserve gentle care. Most of my creations are made with soft, durable yarns, but to keep them looking their best:
-
Hand wash in cool water with mild soap.
-
Avoid wringing or twisting—gently press out water.
-
Lay flat to dry to keep shapes intact.
-
For small accessories like plushies, earrings or bags, spot clean with a damp cloth.
Storage & Display
Proper storage keeps your items safe and beautiful:
-
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
-
Plushies and larger items can sit on shelves or in bins, but avoid cramped spaces to maintain shape.
-
Use breathable bags or boxes for long-term storage to prevent dust buildup.
Handling & Use
A little care goes a long way:
-
Avoid rough play or pulling on delicate parts like hanging pieces or embellishments.
-
Keep crochet jewelry and accessories away from sharp objects to prevent snags.
-
For plushies, remember they’re meant for cuddling but treat them gently to maintain their unique look.

Quick Gauge
Guide
Gauge is how many stitches and rows fit into a measured space (usually 4").
-
Why it matters: Ensures your finished project matches the intended size.
-
Quick Tip: Always check gauge for wearable items. For blankets and plushies, gauge is more about yarn use than exact size.
-
Example: Worsted weight yarn with 5.5 mm hook often gives about 14–16 stitches × 16–18 rows in 4" of single crochet.
